How can I add a password to my Motorola SURFboard wireless router?

I have a Motorola SURFboard wireless router attached to a Motorola wired modem. These were set up a while ago by our internet provider (time warner cable) But they never gave us a password and its an unsecured network. So all our neighbors are all stealing our internet and slowing it down. We now want to add a password/security so we can keep our internet for ourselves. How do I go about adding a password to my router?|||why do you need a password?

try typing model number of router in online search window and go to its web page and see if there is a place to input it|||In most cases you should be able to add or change the password through the settings of the router. In order to get at these settings you will need to find out the IP address of your router and then type it into your internet browser. Type in the username (most likely admin) and the default password (seems to be (motorola) and that should get you into your router. From there the user guide (http://www.csicable.com/attachments/File鈥?/a> will give the specific steps under the Setting up you wireless LAN section.
