How do I upload pictures onto my motorola cell?

Motorola Razr2 V9 and I just got it back from repairs. I'm trying to upload a picture so I can have a background of my choice but am having trouble. I only have what came with the cell phone but I have done this before (just not recently) help! The site is useless!|||Connect it to your computer with the usb cable and load the photo onto the sd card, then select it as the background.
