Is there an internet equivalent to the operating system to the motorola blur and a way to install it?

I found a Motorola Devour and I'm very curious about learning the OS and tips and tricks before I flash it to Cricket and begin using it Any tips and tricks will be greatly appreciated.|||There is an app called LauncherPro on the market that is a replacement home screen app. It has all the features the home screen motoblur has, and more. The operating system the Devour runs is called Android, which was made by Google, and motoblur is a custom skin motorola made, which slows down updates, lags performance, and looks cheesy.
