Is the motorola backflip required to have internet conection to use the phone?

I'm thinking about buying the motorola backflip but I was just wondering do you have to have internet required like for the iphone a friend of mine bought one they were required to have internet for it so i was just wondering if i have to have internet to use the motorola backflip?|||Of course the phone does not need internet to work for the usual calls and txts. But AT%26amp;T has a new policy where all smartphones, PDA's, etc. Need to have an internet package. The company will not sell you the phone with out the internet, and if u do happen to get the phone somewhere else and put your sim card in it, the company will automatically add the data package and won't take it off until you use a different phone. It happened to me twice already. Now I have an unlocked g1. And the data package is $15 because since it is anunlocked phone its considere just a regular nonsmart non pda phone.

|||No phones are required to have internet. You could just use it for normal texting and calling. Internet is an addition that adds more. The iphone doesn't need internet but has the quality for better web surfing. So you can get whatever phone you may like.
