Can i copy all my text messages from my nokia to motorola v3?

I bought a new motorola v3 and when i put the sim card from my old nokia 3200, only about 15 text messages from my nokia transfer to the new phone. Is this because the memory on the v3 isnt as much as the nokia, or are some of the text messages stored on the sim and some on the phone. If so, does anyone know how to store all messages on the sim? Help!|||You can copy your texts to the sim and then they will transfer to the v3. see your instruction manual for details. go to your gallery menu, almost all motorolas have optional themes available there. then choose options-set as theme (or something similar)


try checking the manual, or if you dont have one just download it from motorola's website

Whenever i search for the motorola on my nokia it finds the motorola. I try to pair the two but it asks for a passcode. I try typing in any passcode but none work. How do i get the motorola to pair with the nokia and accept the passcode.|||The motorola's BT must be powered on as well as on 'find me' mode and the phones won't 'pair' unless you are sending a file... then after the passcode (0000) is entered, downloading of the file should automatically start.





To send from Moto to Nokia.. make the nokia's BT on able to be seen


Goto file on Moto you want to send and select 'Menu' and then 'Copy' %26gt; Bluetooth and now search for devices..


when nokia found piar and send.


To send Nokia to Moto it is the same except the moto user has to be in 'Find Me' mode.


once paired once it shouldn't ask for passcode everytime then you can bluejack them all the time there bluetooth is switch on (not in find me mode) if you know how.

Go to the web site you wish to set as your home page. Once there select menu then select tools, once in tools select options and then select home page. You should get options to let you choose between custom, default, and current, Choose current and you are all set. You can also follow the same steps from the default Alltel home page and select custom once you are on the home screen options page and enter the website manually.

I'm thinking about buying the motorola backflip but I was just wondering do you have to have internet required like for the iphone a friend of mine bought one they were required to have internet for it so i was just wondering if i have to have internet to use the motorola backflip?|||Of course the phone does not need internet to work for the usual calls and txts. It happened to me twice already. Now I have an unlocked g1. And the data package is $15 because since it is anunlocked phone its considere just a regular nonsmart non pda phone.

|||No phones are required to have internet. You could just use it for normal texting and calling. Internet is an addition that adds more. The iphone doesn't need internet but has the quality for better web surfing. So you can get whatever phone you may like.

With the drivers and bitpim, you should be able to transfer files to and from your phone|||I don't think you need a usb option on the phone. You just need to get the razr usb driver at hacktherazr. Once the drivers are on the laptop, whenever you plug in the phone the pc should recognize it and then you should be able to use bitpim or a p2k program to interface with the phone

I have a motorola W510 and I wanted to use the mp3 feature. Why buy an ipod if I can use my cell phone. On the internet they say that the maximum memory is 2 gb. If so, why?|||I agree, and have largely given up my MP3 player for this reason.





I believe the limit is based on the processor speed in the phone. Larger cards require faster reading speeds. The published limits are sometimes a bit conservative (not always). You can try a larger card and it may work, but maybe not as well.





However, I work at Motorola, and I took a look at the User Manual on our Web site. It says your phone can take an 8 GB card - that's a boatload of music. I also found a conflicting source that said 2 GB but I was told that it was outdated. Do you have your user manual? What does it say? It's possible the phone received an upgrade and the key is which version you have.





I'll paste the link to the manual below -- see Page 10 . If you still have concerns, see if you can try an 8 GB card before buying one. Or, respond back with questions and I'll keep looking at this.

I had the motorola v3 razor and it died, A friend let me have his old motorola i710 which accepts the same sim card as my v3 the only problem is the phone has nextel on it, Ive heard of people converting phones to work with there sims, i was wandering the sources and what i have to do to make the nextel phone work with my bell wireless sim card.|||Unfortunately, it's not possible. Nextel uses iden technology to power its phone network. Its not combatible with any other type of service. Your Bell Wireless phone is GSM based and cannot work with that phone. I have the Motorola Phone Tools software installed, but my cable connection does not work. The outlet works fine, because I'm able to charge my phone, but there is no response with my cable connection. I even unplug the cable connection and plug it back in and there is still no connection detected when it's time for the setup to look for one. No connection notification, nothin. Brand new cable. Could anyone help me?|||The connectors for the cable are quite small... Take a can of compressed air and clean out the connector on the phone... Just a short burst of air should clean out any lint that might be in there from your pocket....

That was a really nice phone though!!|||My sis-in-law has the Pebl and i personally wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. The memory capacity is awful, the Bluetooth connection keeps switching itself off and it just looks like a really flimsy phone.


I have always been a huge Nokia fan, until recently. My hubby and bro-in-law both have Sony Ericssons, one has the w800i and the other the k800i and since looking at these phones i want an SE myself, the cameras are great, memory is good and expandable and the battery life is just amazing. My hubby is constantly texting and calling, always playing games and has the walkman on a lot (he has the w800i) and he only has to charge it up about once a week or so.





When comparing phones you should always check out what the memory capacity is, if you like to take photos, download games, have mp3's and ringtones you are better getting one with a higher amount of memory, anything less than about 30mb isn't worth it, you will run out of space pretty quick, 30+mb and a memory card slot is best.

My friend is selling his Motorola Devour and he disconnected from the Verizon Network. I would consider buying but he said everything is disabled, is there a way to get around this without having to sign up for some service plan? There isn't a way around it. If your friend disconnected from Verizon, and they're disabling the phone, that means the phone has a bad ESN (serial number). Usually, this mean the customer with Verizon defaulted on the account, or owes Verizon an outstanding balance and they won't turn the phone on because of this. Other reasons ESNs can be bad, are if the owner reported the device as lost or stolen. Unfortunately, if the phone has been associated with a delinquent account... Big Red isn't going to activate the phone. You should test out Wi-Fi and any of the other features you want to use before buying it... because it can't be activated, playing around with it now will give you a good idea to the limitations the phone has.





My advice? Don't buy it, you won't be able to use it to make calls. Tell your friend to sell it on eBay for parts if he/she really doesn't want it any more or is looking to make a quick buck.|||The phone does not need to be activated in order to use WiFi on it- WiFi will work just fine.. You just wont be able to call or text on it

All the motorola products I owned were replaced not because they were damaged but simply because I wanted to upgrade to a newer model....





The pebl actually fell into a vase full of water 5 weeks after I purchased it but regardless it worked fine for the 14 months I used it.


I dropped the slide sk several time but never a problem with the device itself.. (whereas I've heard many stories about the other LX and 2008 sidekicks that are from sharp)





All in all I trust motorola to make great phones, and I've had the cliq for 2 weeks now and not a problem with it even though I dropped it twice =\

I have the motorola droid and i am curious about what people think.|||It's not so much the Droid that is the Iphone killer, but the OS that it is running.





The Droid was the first in the high end android device class running android 2.0. When the Droid got updated to android 2.1 it put it on the same playing field as the iphone 3gs and iphones that are below the 3gs. It was on the same playing field because, feature wise, it did all that the iphone did such as apps and pinch to zoom etc. However, the Droid did much more than that.





For example:


-It ran multiple applications at once


-Live wallpapers - whereas the iphone just has a black background behind its icons. You cant even set wallpaper behind the icons.


-Built in turn by turn voice Google Navigation


-Google account integration ( so that means, google: maps, gmail, picassa, buzz, voice, reader etc.)


-Speach to Text everywhere on the phone, not just the browser


-Widget support


-Support for full customization on the home screens


And the list just goes on and on.





Even with the newest update to android 2.2, flash will be provided which apple will not even consider putting it on their phones.





Also, Google's software is open source so this allows developers to put applications on the market that apple would not even allow. Also, iphone users are stuck using itunes as a way to transport media back and forth to their phones where and android device is not limited in this fashion.





But like I say, it's really not the droid that is the iphone killer. Its Google that is the apple killer


The droid was just the first phone to really utilize some of the major features of the OS and new features as the OS continues to grow.|||I have both. The droid and a 3g iPhone unlocked and jailbroken.





Ive had the iphone for about 3 months and I just got the droid last week.





I kinda like the droid better. I just learned how to root it today. The only thing i like more about the iPhone is that it has more and better apps than the droid..and you can get them all for free.|||Hardly. When iphones go to multiple carriers Droid sales will plummet. Currently iphone is limited to AT%26amp;T. and that is the drawback for droid users. I would suggest going into Menu %26gt; Contacts %26gt; Highlight the contact and press Menu or Options. Then you should have another menu pop up. Scroll down until you see delete or Delete contact. After you have pressed Yes to confirm the contact should be deleted.





To delete contacts from your call history I would suggest contacting TracFone. It may however be as easy as going to Menu %26gt; Call History Menu %26gt; Delete Call History.|||Thank you very much for your help.

This gives a connection from modem to router and router to computer. Start the modem, wait for the lights to stay lit, then power up the router, give it a minute and then start the computers. First thing you need to do is get a MicroSD memory card with a MiniSD adapter or a straight MiniSD card. Then you need to install ActiveSync(Windows Mobile Device Center if you have Vista). ActiveSync has an option to Sync Media. I personally prefer the Drag and drop method as Syncing multimedia has never been an automated process that I enjoyed.





In the ActiveSync window you will see a button for Explore. If you click it and then click on My Windows Mobile based Device there should be a folder called Storage Card. Drag your MP3 files you desire on your phone from your computer's music library to your storage card. If you want the cover flow you will likely have to do the WMP sync method. I'd look for someone on http://www.everythingq.com or http://www.qusers.com who prefers that method. There are many Subject Matter Experts on there. Another thing you want to think about. Make sure the songs do not have DRM on them and that they are 128kbps or less for the Bitrate. Anything more than that, you probably aren't hearing the sound quality difference and you are just taking up more room on your card. Be aware that full songs shouldn't be used as ringtones on a Q as the full song will play even if you have answered the phone. So crop the song using Audacity or Motorola Phone Tools(is compatible only with non Windows Mobile based Motorola Phones).





After you load music on the card you will have to go to Start %26gt; Windows Media %26gt; Menu %26gt; Library %26gt; Storage Card. Menu %26gt; Update Library for your phone to recognize the new songs added to the card.

One or both phones should have come with a CD with both those apps. Install both programs onto your computer (Outlook first) and then first connect the Q to transfer contacts to Outlook and then connect the Blackjack to transfer contacts from Outlook.





The EnV is a bit of a problem because it's not a Windows Mobile device but it's still possible to transfer the contacts. The EnV should have also come with a CD to sync the phone with a computer. Connect the EnV to your computer and run the app and sync all your info. Once that's done, when you first install Outlook, it should find the EnV's application and ask if you want to import that data. That should move your EnV contacts to Outlook so that it can be synced to the Blackjack.||| - buy a memory card (i think the blackjack uses uo to 4 gb)

These were set up a while ago by our internet provider (time warner cable) But they never gave us a password and its an unsecured network. My gf recently broke her Motorola KRZR faceplate, I ordered a replacement on eBay. I have directions on how to take the phone apart, but not how to replace the faceplate. The plate seems to be glued down, what type of glue can I use to seal the replacement down?

Just break the seal that is on there now and then put the new paceplate on. If you are that worried about it just the smallest amount of clear silicone spread lightly around the edges should help hold a little better.

I just got the new motorola droid but I can't figure out how to text on the touchscreen sideways.|||Just rotate the phone on it's side. The keyboard will rotate with the phone to the landscape mode. (you must rotate the phone counter-clockwise - meaning the little "ledge" needs to be on your right, the top of the phone on your left, just like if you were to open your keyboard.





When the phone is in landscape mode (with the physical keyboard not extended), the keyboard and the area where your text appears will take up the entire screen. You won't be able to see the existing text messages. You type what you want to type, then press the send button. To make the keyboard "disappear" press the "back button" to make it re-appear, click in the text area where you want to type.|||Try tapping the typing field. If a redish-orangish border is around it, then the keyboard will appear and you should be able to type.
